Few Protestant Churches Met in Person for Worship Services in April

This online survey, conducted April 27-29, queried 470 pastors and was weighted by average church attendance, region, pastor ethnicity, and pastoral identification of evangelical or mainline. 90% of respondents did not gather for worship in April and only 3% did not provide any video content during that time. Additionally 57% had a congregant lose a job, up 15-points from March survey and 20% had a congregant diagnosed with COVID, up 15-points from March. Over half of respondents (56%) report their congregation did not apply for Government assistance Included open-ended responses.
