Are People Changing Religion in the Pandemic?

Using preliminary polling data from Polling for Progress, Religion in Public examines how American religious distribution shifted during the 2020 pandemic, and how politics had an impact on those changes. The number of Americans who identify as Catholics and “nones” seems to remain stable, but those identifying as Protestant is slipping. Instead, there’s a trend in former Protestants falling in the “other” category. A reason for this change could be Evangelical support for Donald Trump.
